Hitchcock Police are investigating the death of a woman found inside a home in the 4400 block of North Railroad Avenue early Wednesday morning.
Officers were called to the residence around 12:02 a.m. after a report of an unresponsive woman. The Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office took her remains for an autopsy. Police said her identity has been confirmed but will not be released until her family is notified.
The home was the site of a fire on Sunday. Investigators have determined the woman’s death is not connected to that fire, according to the Hitchcock Police Department.
The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Crenshaw at 409-795-8028 or dcrenshaw@hitchcockpd.com.
