The first elimination game of the 2026 WNBA Finals is on deck.
The Golden State Valkyries have a chance to close out the Finals and secure the franchise’s first championship in Game 6 against the Atlanta Dream Thursday.
And there’s a chance Valkyries fans will be celebrating a championship victory at around noon PT on a weekday. That’s because the Game 6 tipoff time was moved up so it could be played at State Farm Arena, home of the NBA‘s Atlanta Hawks. Games 3 and 4 were also played at State Farm Arena, which holds around 14,000 more fans than the Dream’s normal home venue, Gateway Center Arena in College Park. But the Hawks have a game Thursday night that couldn’t be rescheduled.
The Valkyries have the Dream on the ropes after winning two straight games, turning a 2-1 series deficit into a 3-2 advantage. Golden State forced Atlanta into a combined 32 turnovers across Games 4 and 5, while Kiah Stokes and Co. limited Angel Reese to 15 total points in those contests.
In a matchup between two of the WNBA’s top defenses, points have been hard to come by. Atlanta is shooting 36% from the field and 24.8% from 3-point range for the series, while Golden State is at 35.2% from the field and 26.5% from deep.
So, will the Dream rebound and extend the series to a decisive Game 7? Or will the Valkyries go from expansion franchise to champions in just two seasons? Here’s how to watch Game 6 of the WNBA Finals:
